Open Pantry Shows Heart As It Pounds Pavement for MS
Summer 2006 MS Connections Newsletter - Great article summarizing Open Pantry's involvement with the MS Walk and annual MS Sneaker Sales.  In 2006, the Walk Goal was 10,900 participants and the actual registered participants were 12,028!!  Over $25,000 was raised in sneaker sales (over half coming from Open Pantry alone)...that's a HUGE success for this year's MS overall fundraising.  "Open Pantry is really a conduit for the wonderful employees and vendors who help us in this effort." ~Robert Buhler, CEO & President~

For the fifth year Open Pantry was involved in the MS Walk for the Racine/Kenosha area..  Corporate began the challenge with a goal to sell more sneakers in 2007 than in 2006.  Sell 20,000 Sneakers!  There were many challenges to be in the top 5 sneaker sales.  This resulted in the Crystal Lake, IL store to sell enough sneakers in one week to rise from 11th place to 5th place and in 2 of those days, 150 sneakers were sold by one person!

After all was said and done, the results were tallied and Open Pantry sold more than 22,000 sneakers from 28 locations throughout Wisconsin and Illinois which was donated to MS.

Participants in Multiple Sclerosis Walk Don't Let Weather Rain On Their Message.
Robert A. Buhler, president and CEO for Open Pantry Food Marts of Wisconsin, said his stores raised $15,000 this year through its MS Walk Sneakers Program during which customers could purchase a paper sneaker for $1.  Buhler's company also donated food, employees and supplies for Sunday's walk.
